1. Accounts, eligibility and separate choices

Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and report suspected unauthorised access promptly. Only enter a contract when you have legal capacity; anyone acting for a business must be authorised. Any additional eligibility or minimum-age rule applying to a particular service must also be met.

Free registration, following a publication, following a journalist, consenting to email and buying membership are separate choices. Following does not create a payment obligation or subscribe you to marketing. Saved stories and follows are account-owned; recommendations are distinguished from your following feed.

2. Content and publishing

Creators retain ownership of their submitted content and grant Newsycle a non-exclusive licence to host, format, display, deliver and back it up only as reasonably necessary to provide the service, display permitted previews and protect the platform. Separate uses beyond those purposes require permission.

Publish only material you have authority to use, including photographs, artwork and audience records. Team members must stay within their assigned roles. Verification is not a guarantee that every claim is true. Audience information remains subject to individuals’ privacy and consent rights, not unrestricted ownership.

External-source reports remain subject to the named publisher’s rights and access rules. Linking or attribution does not itself grant reproduction rights. Reporting can develop, be corrected or be withdrawn. Paid automated reader summaries, translations and generated illustrations are not included in this release.

3. Membership pricing and cancellation

Paid checkout must identify the supplier, currency, total charge, billing interval and included benefits before purchase. Monthly plans are Newsycle Member at AUD $15 and Creator & Storefront at AUD $25 total, including Member benefits, not an extra $25 on top. Applicable mandatory taxes and charges must be included or clearly disclosed before confirmation.

Monthly subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. Cancel the next renewal through account billing, or contact us when that control is unavailable. There is no cancellation fee. Ordinary cancellation retains access to the end of the paid period, without removing statutory refund rights. We will correct a renewal charge caused by our failure to process a cancellation requested in time.

Optional add-ons require separate agreement. Material price or benefit changes require clear advance notice and a reasonable opportunity to cancel before a renewal is affected. A material reduction in prepaid services requires the appropriate remedy; continued use does not waive non-excludable rights.

4. Shops, advertising and investigations

The seller identified at marketplace checkout supplies the product unless Newsycle is expressly identified as seller. An expression of interest is not an order and takes no payment. These terms do not provide escrow, a blanket payout hold or staged presale settlement.

Advertising must be identifiable and lawful, and any purchase is governed by its agreed order and budget. Payment does not buy editorial endorsement, guaranteed sales or another publication’s subscriber list. Advertisers are not given raw subscriber emails through promotion tools.

Investigation votes are advisory, with one eligible member vote where offered. Membership does not buy a predetermined finding, confidential source identities or control over editorial conclusions.

5. Moderation, responsibility and remedies

We may apply proportionate restrictions to address unlawful material, serious policy breaches, abuse, security risks or valid legal requirements. Where lawful and practical, we explain material decisions and provide a review route. A complaint alone does not prove wrongdoing.

We take reasonable care but cannot promise uninterrupted availability or error-free reporting. Each party remains responsible to the extent required by law for its own breach, negligence or unlawful conduct. Users are not required to indemnify Newsycle for Newsycle’s own fault.

Nothing excludes, restricts or modifies Australian Consumer Law guarantees or other non-excludable rights. There is no blanket no-refunds rule, compulsory store credit, mandatory private arbitration or waiver of statutory remedies.

6. Changes, contact and governing law

Dated terms do not retrospectively rewrite an existing order or accrued right. We give clear notice of material changes and obtain additional consent where required. You can stop using free services or cancel future renewals rather than accept a material change.

Victorian and applicable Australian law govern these terms without removing mandatory protections where a user lives. A competent court or tribunal may hear a dispute. Use the complaints page or operator contact; urgent legal or regulatory remedies do not depend on completing an internal process first.
