Newsycle policies
Returns, refunds and cancellations
Australian Consumer Law and other non-excludable rights take priority over shop conditions and this policy. The supplier must provide the remedy required for the particular goods or service.

The forms create private case records without publishing a personal name, direct email address or residential address.
1. Consumer guarantees
Goods supplied to consumers must meet applicable guarantees, including acceptable quality, fitness for disclosed purpose, matching description or sample, and undisturbed possession. Services must meet applicable guarantees including due care and skill, fitness for purpose and reasonable time where no time is agreed.
Discounted, sale, made-to-order and pre-order goods remain covered except for a defect specifically disclosed and accepted where the law permits. A manufacturer warranty is additional and cannot replace the supplier’s obligations.
Reasonable proof of purchase may be requested. It need not be the original receipt if another record identifies the transaction.
2. Major and minor failures
For a major failure with goods, the consumer may generally reject the goods and choose a refund or replacement, or keep them and claim compensation for reduced value. Compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss may also be available. Multiple minor failures can amount to a major failure in the circumstances.
For a minor failure, the supplier may generally choose to repair, replace or refund and must do so within a reasonable time. If the supplier refuses or does not fix the problem within a reasonable time, further remedies may include repair elsewhere at the supplier’s reasonable cost or rejection where the law allows.
Service remedies depend on whether the failure is major and whether it can be fixed. They can include cancellation, refund, price reduction, re-supply and compensation as required by law.
3. Returns, assessment and costs
Contact the seller or Newsycle for return instructions. The operator correspondence address is not a returns warehouse; do not send a product there without specific written instructions.
A supplier may assess whether the claim relates to a product problem, misuse or ordinary wear. Assessment must not be used to impose unreasonable delay or deter a valid claim. Original packaging is not required for a faulty-goods remedy.
When a product problem is confirmed, the supplier must reimburse reasonable return costs where required. Large, heavy or hard-to-remove faulty items require collection or reasonable transport arrangements as the law requires. A potentially chargeable no-fault inspection or collection requires a reasonable estimate and agreement in advance.
4. Change of mind
A change-of-mind return is available only when the seller offered it at purchase or later agrees. The disclosed period, condition and excluded categories apply only to that voluntary policy and must be fair and clear.
A change-of-mind rule cannot be applied to refuse a remedy for a fault, safety issue, misdescription, non-supply or other breach. Hygiene or customisation exclusions do not override non-excludable rights.
5. Non-supply, delay and pre-orders
If a seller cannot supply, it must stop taking orders and provide a prompt refund or other remedy the buyer freely accepts. A material delivery delay must be communicated with a revised estimate and available cancellation rights.
A pre-order must identify the expected dispatch window and material uncertainty before payment. These policies do not authorise indefinite retention of payment, automatic substitution or staged use of presale funds without a separately enabled and disclosed arrangement.
6. Subscriptions and digital services
Cancelling a monthly membership stops future renewal without a cancellation fee and ordinarily preserves access until the paid period ends. A cancellation control that is unavailable does not prevent cancellation through the published contact.
Service failure, misleading description, duplicate charge, unprocessed cancellation or material reduction in prepaid benefits may create refund, cancellation, re-supply, price-reduction or compensation rights beyond ordinary end-of-period cancellation.
7. Refund method, timing and escalation
An approved refund normally returns to the original payment method unless another lawful method is agreed. Store credit is not a compulsory substitute for a required refund. The seller and Newsycle must not describe a requested, approved, submitted and completed refund as the same state.
Provide the order or membership reference and relevant evidence. Newsycle or the seller may ask for proportionate further information. Unresolved issues may be escalated through the complaints page, the payment provider, consumer affairs body, tribunal, court or regulator without waiving rights.
